Why is regular church attendance important?
Can't I just be a Christian on my own without going to church regularly?
Personal faith is essential, but the New Testament never envisions Christianity as a solo pursuit. Hebrews 10:24-25 specifically instructs believers not to neglect "meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing," but to encourage one another.
The church is described as a body with many interdependent parts (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) — you need other believers' gifts, and they need yours. It's also where we receive regular teaching, participate in the sacraments (baptism, communion), are held accountable, and serve others in tangible ways.
Christianity was never meant to be lived in isolation; the local church is God's ordinary means of shaping and sustaining faith over a lifetime.
