The God I Never Knew

Jeremiah 9 : 24 [ESV]

but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.”

Our understanding of God affects our Walk with Him

Jeremiah ministered in a time when Israel had drifted deeply into ungodliness. Their sin was not merely a problem of behavior—it revealed a deeper problem: they had lost sight of who God really was.

They doubted His righteousness, justice, goodness, and faithfulness. And isn't that still true today? 🤔

We live in a world asking, “Does God really exist?” Then, “If He exists, is He really powerful? Is He really just? Is He really good?”

Our assumptions, experiences, childhood, culture, and what we have been taught. can create a picture of God in our minds that isn't who He truly is.

💭 But what if we took time to discover God for who He really is?

As we journey with through this theme this month, May we allow His Word to correct our assumptions and reveal His character, sovereignty, justice, and love.

Take Home

You cannot have a right relationship with God if your understanding of who He is, is wrong.

PRAYER

Lord, reveal Yourself to me. Where I have misunderstood You or allowed my experiences and assumptions to shape my view of You, correct me. As I journey through this month, help me to know You for who You truly are. Amen.
