From Pit to Purpose - Faithful in the Shadows
Genesis 39 : 4 [ESV]
So Joseph found favor in his sight and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house and put him in charge of all that he had.
Faithful in the Shadows
Joseph served faithfully in Potiphar's house long before anyone recognized his potential. Though he was a slave, he gave his best because his service was ultimately unto God, not man.
We often desire recognition, applause, and appreciation. When people become our audience, we slowly lose sight of Christ. True servants are not driven by praise but by faithfulness. They serve with excellence even when no one is watching, knowing that their reward comes from God.
Joseph's integrity in the hidden place prepared him for influence in the public place. Before God entrusts us with greater responsibility, He often tests our faithfulness in the shadows.
Take Home: Be faithful where God has placed you today. The God who sees in secret is preparing you for His purpose.
Prayer: Father, give me a servant's heart. Help me to serve You faithfully, whether I am seen or unseen, and let my greatest desire be to please You alone. Amen.
